About RAFIB

An advisory firm born in academia

Our experts are academic staff of the Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź, associated with the Department of Accounting, who for over three decades have combined academic knowledge with hands-on implementation.

September 1990

Born in a time of change

The company began operating on 20 September 1990 — at the dawn of Poland's economic transformation, when Polish enterprises urgently needed modern cost accounting and management accounting systems suited to the rules of a market economy. It is one of Poland's pioneering companies in which academics commercialised their knowledge — long before the term "spin-off" became common.

September 1991

RaFiB — accounting, finance and business

On 24 September 1991 the company adopted the name RaFiB — an acronym of the Polish words Rachunkowość, Finanse and Biznes (accounting, finance and business), which define its field of work to this day. Under this brand, the team associated with the Department of Accounting at the University of Łódź began a series of implementations that helped shape management accounting practice in Polish companies.

35 years of experience

More than three decades of implementations

Since 1991 the RaFiB team has delivered dozens of major implementation projects. Each of them commercialised management-accounting knowledge and know-how, supporting the transformation of the Polish economy — from the revolutionary changes of the 1990s to the evolutionary refinement of systems in the following decades. The organisations we served include companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange as well as large manufacturing, service and trade enterprises.

Today

Continuing the tradition

Today RaFiB continues this tradition under the leadership of Dr Jacek Kalinowski and Monika Kalinowska. Our experts remain academic staff of the Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź — we combine research achievement with practice so that the systems we design genuinely support management decisions.
