Designing management accounting and controlling systems
Comprehensive management information models — from concept to rollout — tailored to the organisation's processes and IT systems.
Management accounting & controlling · Cost accounting
We design and implement management accounting, controlling and cost accounting systems that help organisations make better decisions — combining academic rigour with implementation experience since 1991.
About RAFIB
RaFiB grew out of an academic environment. Its experts are academic staff of the Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź — associated with the Department of Accounting — who combine academic knowledge with years of hands-on experience designing and implementing management accounting, controlling and cost accounting systems.
Competencies
Every project is designed individually around the client's needs.
Comprehensive management information models — from concept to rollout — tailored to the organisation's processes and IT systems.
Designing and modernising cost accounting, including alignment with management needs and balance-sheet valuation for financial reporting.
Activity-based costing implementations — the real costs of activities, processes and their drivers.
Budgeting and variance-control systems supporting day-to-day management decisions.
Multidimensional profitability analysis of products, clients and channels, plus performance measurement based on the balanced scorecard.
Analysis and assessment of the existing system, plus support in selecting and implementing IT tools for controlling and budgeting.
Sectors & industries
We have designed management accounting and cost accounting systems for manufacturing, service and trade companies. Point at a sector to see how we support its specifics — these are examples only; the real range is considerably wider.
Cost accounting for generation and transmission, and profitability models in energy and fuels.
How we work
We work in stages, transferring knowledge to the client's team at every step.
Understanding the organisation, its goals and challenges.
We get to know the organisation, its strategic goals, operating model and management's expectations of the information system.
Analysis of the current cost and result information system.
We analyse the current cost and result information system, its data sources and the tools and IT systems in use.
Identifying gaps and improvement potential.
We identify gaps, risks and improvement potential, and set change priorities matched to the organisation's capacity.
Designing a system tailored to the organisation.
We design the cost, result and metric model, together with calculation rules and the management reporting structure.
Rollout and integration with IT systems.
We roll out the solution, integrate it with IT systems and verify data accuracy over real periods.
Team training, results review and improvement.
We train the client's team, hand over documentation, review results and plan further improvement.
